Debra L. Ryan, 52 of Pendleton passed away November 15, 2017.She was born September 7, 1965 in Anderson and was a Pendleton resident most of her life.Debra was a registered nurse for many years.She was a 1983 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Ivy Tech University. While at Pendleton Heights she was a member of the track team and later served as an instructor as well. Debra was a past song leader at Huntsville Evangelistic Community Church. She truly loved and enjoyed cooking.Survivors include her sons, Richard “Dick” Dale Gooding of Gaston, James R. Gooding of Athens, Tenn., Denny Lee Gooding and Jak Gooding both of New Castle; parents, Dennis L. and Violet L. (Williams) Ryan of Pendleton; sisters, Lana Farrow of Fishers and Julie Larkin (husband Larrie) of Pendleton; grandchildren, Nicholas Richard Nelson, Penelope Faith Nelson, Thomas Alan Theommes and Jazmin Miller; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Euvine Hulse and Nina Ryan.Services will begin at 4 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with the Nursing Honor Guard memorial followed by Pastor Paul Blair officiating. Cremation will follow at a later date.Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.

I loved her. She was an excellent nurse, a hard worker, and friendly. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. I'm sorry I didn't male it a point to get to know her better and to let her know how much I cared.

So very shocked to learn of Debbie's passing. We were classmates & ran track together. Such a sweet caring person. My sincere condolences to her family.

So many memories...Debbie and I grew up together. It's very difficult for me to believe she is gone. I wish I would have stayed in touch. Even though we are from the same family...we still grew up and grew apart. Grandma Ryan always made sure everyone saw each other at least once a year...you just couldn't miss Grandma Ryan's Christmas party..it was frowned upon. I remember many times as a kid, Aunt Violet driving...me, Debbie, Julie and Aunt Violet singing so many songs...happy memories. I also remember our little lemonade stand we set up near Debbie's house...we had a few high school kids stop and actually buy some of our lemonade...it was such a great feeling!! My mind goes to all those times we (me, Debbie & Julie) spent the night with Grandma Ryan...and patiently waited until Grandma talked Aunt Nettie into letting us go swimming!! I'll always miss you!!

Please accept my sincere condolences. I have fond memories of Debbie from our childhood. She was truly and good friend.

i met Debra first when our sons played baseball together for a few years .. Always kind sweet and supportive. A great mom .. Then Debra came to the hospital to work where I also worked . Debra was an amazing compassionate nurse that patients loved . Always helpful regardless of her own work load . Debra's talent as a nurse will be a huge loss to the nursing field .. My thoughts and prayers are with u and your family you leave behind
