Delores Elaine “Dee” Jump, 88, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born June 8, 1934 in Indianapolis to Mary (Ruff) and Robert W. Pyritz.
Dee married her husband, Paul T. Jump, May 22, 1955 in Indianapolis. Together they served 43 years in United Methodist pastorates in Indiana: Lucerne, Leiters Ford, Jeffersonville, Morristown, New Harmony, Fort Branch, Crawfordsville, Sheridan, Indianapolis (Otterbein), New Castle, and Brazil. They retired to Franklin in 1998.
A lover of good books from early school days in Indianapolis, Dee’s interest led her into employment at Block’s book department during young adulthood, and hours as volunteer librarian at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community during retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Stephen Jump of Brownsburg; a daughter, Rebekah (Neil) Thompson of Sheridan; a granddaughter, Shelby Thompson of Bloomington; and a brother, Robert C. Pyritz of Indianapolis.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, September 17, at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Wright Chapel. Visitation will take place from 10-11AM prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Otterbein Franklin SeniorLIfe Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, IN 46131 or to the donor’s favority charity.
