Dennis Charles Thompson, 79 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on May 16, 2023. Dennis was born in Dodge City, Kansas on March 25, 1944. Dennis worked for 38 years as a chemist for Eli Lilly & Co with his name on many Lilly patents. He was a volunteer at Hunger Inc. food pantry for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Zeider, Betts); son David (Connie) Betts; grandchildren Allison and Emily; son Shane (Sarah) Thompson; grandchildren Lily, Willow, Cami, Maddox, Audrey; son Bill (Amy) Betts; grandchildren Zachary and Jacob; daughter Rachel (Phil) Odenkirk; grandchildren Virginia, Caroline, Kumar; niece Kelly (Melissa) Thompson-Burgess; sister-in-laws Debby Thompson and Kathie Zeider. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lillian (Holderman) Thompson and his brother Larry Thompson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 27th at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 600 Paul Hand Blvd, Franklin Indiana. Calling will be 10:00 am to noon with the celebration of life following. Cremated remains to be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date. In leu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Final arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.
