Donald Wallace Armstrong Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 31st, surrounded by his loved ones. Don is survived by his wife of 25 years Susan Reeves Armstrong, and their children and spouses, Heather (Tom) Blake, David (Shawn) Armstrong, Jon (Bonnie) Reeves, Carrie (Marcus) White, David (Danielle) Reeves, and Cathy (Chris) Evans, plus 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Don graduated from Purdue University in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management. After graduation, he took a job with Inland Container Corporation and worked his way up to Assistant Vice President in charge of Human Resources and Development. He retired from there after 35 years of service. He was very active in Zionsville Presbyterian Church as an Elder, and went on many missionary trips to far off places like India and Egypt. Don was also very involved with SNIBS (Sunday night is bible study). He volunteered his time at many charities and organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Mission Commission, Prison Mission, just to name a few. Don served his country in the Naval Reserves stationed in the Great Lakes. He was also an avid boater and spent a lot of time cruising the Great Lakes, Chesapeake Bay, Lake Monroe, Lake Wawasee, and the North Atlantic off the coast of Maine.
Funeral services will be held at Zionsville Presbyterian Church at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 4th. Light snacks will be served immediately after.
