Dwayne Keith Walter, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center on Friday, May 27, 2011. He was 76 years old. Dwayne was born Dec. 6, 1934 to Charles H. and Myrtle Ragsdale Walter. He married Nancy Rankin Walter in 1960. He attended North Salem High School. Preceding him in death were his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by sister Marilyn Gossett; daughters, Toni Ford, Debra Walter and Cheryl Williams; son-in-law Brad Williams; grandsons Robert Ford, Hunter Ford and Drew Williams; granddaughters Courtney West, Kristen Ford, Kayla Williams, Kendahl Williams, and Haley Ford; and great-granddaughter Savannah Shelton. Dwayne raised Holstein cattle in Danville until 2005. He attended the Hendricks County 4H Fair as a young man and continued to proudly watch his children and grandchildren participate for many years. Donations can be made to the Hendricks Community Foundation. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, IN from 2:00-6:30 p.m. Service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with John Gossett officiating.
