Jean Basham, 86 of Franklin, Indiana passed away on Friday, July 8. She was born to the late Burl and Abbie (Collins) Gill on December 12, 1935 in Aberdeen, Mississippi.

Jean married the love of her life, Ed Basham on December 31, 1954

Jean was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood and was always willing to serve her church community.  She was a loving wife, mom, and friend who loved her flowers and helping others.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by son Michael Basham, and brother Mac Gill.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ed, and daughter, Barb Basham;

Services for Jean are Thursday, July 14 at 12:00 noon at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel, with visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Garden Cemetery following the service.

We would like to share my thoughts and feelings regarding Jean. She was a lovely lady, inside and outside. She loved her church and her church family. She and Ed gave so much of themselves to Calvary Baptist Church. She cooked meals and Ed was right there beside her, helping in whatever way possible. They did landscaping all around the church right up until the pandemic. They were unable to attend Calvary Baptist since the pandemic due to medical reasons, and we missed them so much. We appreciate all the conversations we had with each other for the past several years and we will truly miss Jean. My prayers are for Ed and Barb and we are so happy to know that Jean is with her personal Savior, Jesus Christ and we will meet her again one day. We love you and wish the best for the family.
