Gary W. Short

Gary Short, age 70, of Greenwood, passed away on May 14, 2022. He was born on June 23, 1951, to Clarence and Mary Short, both of whom precede him in death. He was a graduate of David Lipscomb College, majoring in Business Administration, and married Maria Alicia Short, who survives him, on June 21, 1975, in Indianapolis. Gary then served his country in the Air National Guard, earning an honorable discharge in July of 1978. He worked as a manager for Weyerhauser in the shipping department and was a member of the Shelbyville Church of Christ in Indianapolis.

Gary is also survived by his daughter: Stacy M. Pelton; grandson: Braden Pelton; and granddaughter: Aryanna Pelton; brothers: Carl Short, Darrell (Kris) Short, Cornell (Wanda) Short; and sisters: Lorine Ward, Maxine Seale, Louise Lee, Sandy Skiles, and Barbara Surber.

He is also preceded in death by his brother: Larry Short; and sister: Shirley Hunt.

A visitation will be held on Thursday May 19^th, 2022, from 4-8pm at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave. Indianapolis, IN. The funeral will take place at the Shelbyville Road Church of Christ, 4915 Shelbyville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237 at 11 am on Friday May 20^th 2022. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
