Georgia Hottell left this world at the age 78 to live with her Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was born in Louisville, KY and moved to Georgetown, IN at an early age. Following graduation from Georgetown High School, she attended the University of Indianapolis earning both Bachelor and Masters Degrees. She taught as a substitute teacher while raising three children, returning to the classroom full time to complete 22 years of service with Perry Township Schools. Following retirement, Georgia completed the Master Gardener course at Purdue Extension. Her passion became gardening, volunteering with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Downtown Inc., and her favorite, the gardens at the President Benjamin Harrison Home where she designed gardens and appeared every Wednesday for 20 years to tend the gardens.Georgia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kendall, and children Scott (Anne), Todd, and Lora (Adam), 7 grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Abby, Luke, Cooper, Olivia, and Reagan, and her first great-grandchild, Colson, to be born in early April.Visitation will be held at Singleton and St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, 7602 Madison Ave. Indianapolis from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at University Heights United Methodist Church 4002 Otterbein Ave. Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the “Hottell Family Endowed Scholarship,” University of Indianapolis, 1400 E.
