Imagene Hannis

Imagene Hannis, 90, of Jamestown, IN, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Parkwood Nursing Home. She was born September 14, 1926 in Boone County, IN, daughter of the late Albert and Gladys (Starbuck) Wakefield. Imagene married Donald Hannis on October 4, 1975. Imagene graduated from the Indiana School of Nursing in 1960 and worked as a nurse until her retirement. She enjoyed playing golf and gardening and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, James (Carol) Coy and Ronald (Valerie) Coy, both of Kirklin, step-sons, Tom (Sarlota) Hannis of The Netherlands, Jim (Deanna) Hannis of Etowah, NC, John Hannis of Jamestown and Rock (Tonia) Hannis of Jamestown and grandchildren, Doug, Jon, Chris, James Coy and Angie Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hannis, son, Donald Coy, brothers, Harold and Franklin Wakefield, sister, Martha Belle Essex and grandson, Jeffrey Coy. A private family service was held at the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AmVets or your local VFW post.
