James Jarvis

March 26, 1946 - January 2, 2017

James B Jarvis, 70 of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017. He was born March 26, 1946 in Crawfordsville, IN, son of the late Emory and Mariellen (Hymer) Jarvis. Jim was a member of New Ross Christian Church. He owned the Mom & Pop’s Party Shop for 20 years. He built his own midget car and enjoyed racing go carts and modified midgets. He also enjoyed watching IU Basketball and dog sitting for his granddog “Candy”. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jill Jarvis, son, Brad (Sara) Jarvis of New Market, daughter, Kathy Jarvis Smith of Crawfordsville, grandchildren, Emily Jarvis of New Market and Jacob (Melissa) Jarvis of Ft. Sill, OK. Family and friends will gather Friday, January 6, 2017, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, January 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Singletary officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in the Pisgah Cemetery, Beckville, IN.
