John William Sullivan

John William Sullivan, 74, of Lizton, IN, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born May 20, 1941 in Bethpage, TN, son of the late George and Marlie (Carter) Sullivan. John married Elaine Brides on July 22, 1961. She survives. He attended Harvestime Fellowship Church. John worked for over 40 years for the Local 440 Steam Fitters in Indianapolis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, rebuilding old tractors and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Loretta Lynn (Melvin) Lamb of Veedersburg, Jeff (Kim) Sullivan of Plainfield and Shannon (Rick) Griffith of North Salem, grandchildren, Cassandra Lamb-Ginter, Samuel Lamb, Brandon Sullivan, Kaithlin Sullivan, Ashley Griffith and Nick Griffith, 4 great-grandchildren and 7 siblings. Family and friends will gather Tuesday, August 18, 2015, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, Lebanon, Indiana. Services will be held at the mortuary, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Art Thomas officiating. John will be laid to rest in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
