On Saturday, May 15, 2021, The Trooper Bartram Memorial Foundation gained a Guardian Angel and lost another hero. Kim Bartram VanJelgerhuis, sister of Indiana State Trooper James (Pat) Bartram, died quietly in her home surrounded those she loved. Kim was born to the late Robert Bartram and Sherry Walker in Indianapolis on May 27, 1958. Kim was the life force behind the Trooper Bartram Memorial Foundation from its beginning. She honored the life of her brother by creating this organization with the support of family and friends to make sure that kindness lived on in the lives of children who might not have a Christmas. The organization has continued to honor the lives of fallen officers each year by bringing the law enforcement community and our neighbors in need together to celebrate the goodness of coming together for a common cause – keeping love alive. In addition to her parents and brother, Trooper Pat Bartram Kim is preceded in death by brother’s Robert “Bob” Bartram, and Jackie Bartram. She is survived by husband Michael “Mike” VanJelgerhuis; children, Mike and Miles VanJelgerhuis; brother, John Michael Bartram (Jenni); sisters Kelly Fox (Mark), Kathryn “Katie” Denham (Guy); grandchildren, Miles, Naudia, and Isaiah VanJelgerhuis, as well as many nieces, nephews cousins, aunts and uncles. A memorial service for Kim will be held on Thursday, May 27 at 6:00 PM with memorial gathering from 4:00 PM until time of service at Singleton and St. Pierre Mortuary, 7602 Madison Ave. Indpls., IN. 46227.
