Luke Anderson, age 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 14, 2022. He was born in Tunica, Mississippi, on July 27, 1932 to James and Leanna Anderson. Luke was a competitive bodybuilder and weightlifter. He loved traveling, especially going to the beach. Luke also had a love for music and was very involved in union activities, being a member of UAW Local 23, even serving as the UAW Retiree Financial Secretary for Local 23. He worked for the General Motors Plant in Indianapolis for 32 years before retiring. He was married to his loving wife, Kathleen Bewley Anderson, for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife: Kathleen Anderson; son: Rhett Anderson; daughters: Sharon (Joseph) Perkins, Misty (Ernesto) Manestar, Robyn Bishop, Gina Bauers, and Terri Anderson; grandchildren: Cammy (Gary) Cohen-Betts, Tonie (Eric) Cohen-Hathcock, Craig Johnson, Joseph Perkins, Jr., Jheri (Fred) Thornton, Jharon Perkins, Joshua Barnes, Armond Manestar, Mikayla Manestar, Corriana (Bea) Colon, Devon Dunseth, Autumn Otis Bishop, Bradley Bishop, Jr., Brendan Harris, Dylan Harris, and Samuel Strickland; five great-grandchildren; a beloved niece: Willa Mae McCloud; as well as may great-nieces and great-nephews.
Luke is preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, and a daughter: Deborah Jean Anderson Butler.

A visitation will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.
