Nina Marie Goins, age 86, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away surrounded by her “babies” on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Community Hospital South. Nina was born on April 25, 1931 in Indianapolis to Forest Emerson English and Evelena Elizabeth (Hill) English. She was the youngest and the only girl of three children. She attended Southport High School and later went on to work for Conrail Railroad as a clerk for over 27 years. On January 10, 1948, she married the love of her life, James Goins. Jim preceded her in death in July of 2016. Nina was a member of Gray Road Baptist Church in Indianapolis and a member of the NARBW (National Association of Railroad Business Women). Nina loved to crochet and was also quite technology savvy. But most of all, she loved her family dearly. She always referred to them as her “babies”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her children, Gary Goins (Jeanette) of Needham; Kevin Goins (Sherri) of Indianapolis; Sharon Allen (Lee) of Indianapolis; and Sandy Glomski (Dale) of Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Nina was preceded in death by her husband of 68 ½ years, Jim Goins; and two brothers Lowell and Leo English.Visitation for Mrs. Goins will be held on Sunday evening, June 4, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services & Crematory, Sterling-Gerber Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Monday morning, June 5, at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Rocklane Cemetery in Greenwood.

Dear Sharon, Sandy, Gary, Kevin and family, Your mother was a very special lady and wonderful Christian. She reached out to so many people and I know her reward in Heaven will be great. I will always have fond memories of your family and it will not be the same here without Nina. I know she is happier than ever with her Lord, her sweet Jim, and her many friends who were waiting for her. I can only imagine how happy she is to be "finally home". Goins Family, You all should know how much Nina touched the lives of others, she is so loved. I have so many great memories going to Beech Grove to church with your family and how much our parents raised us to lead a Christian life. It has sustained me and I know it has done the same for all of you. I am sorry for the loss of Nina but I know she is in heaven with Jim and her brothers and hopefully she runs across my daddy. I love you my dear. I will always keep the two crocheted throw blankets on my couch and loveseat that you made for Bill and I and gave us on our wedding day. Hugs to you in Heaven.
