Norma Fields

Norma R. Fields (nee Schnepf) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the loving embrace of her family. Born on February 7, 1928 to George and Hazel Schnepf, Norma graduated Indianapolis Manual High School alongside many lifelong friends. She was a big sister to Richard (Rich) and George (Bud) Schnepf.

Norma worked for American States Insurance and then General Motors before marrying Wayne Fields in 1950. The proudest achievements of their 67+ year marriage were 3 children, 5 grandkids, 8 great grandchildren and one recently born great-great granddaughter, to each they showered much adoration and affection.

Full of enduring love, generosity and energy, Norma was a loyal friend and the dynamic center of her family. She was a tireless homemaker and enthusiastic host to countless holiday and birthday celebrations, church events, card parties and fun outings at the lake house. She was an avid traveler and lifelong member of the United Church of Christ. Norma led a long and fulfilling life, surrounded from childhood to her passing in the loving affection of her family and faithful friends.

Visitation will start at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 11 at Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory located at 7602 Madison Avenue in Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:30 PM, with burial immediately following at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Flowers are certainly appreciated, but the family prefers a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice, the planting of a tree in her honor or the simple remembrance, from time to time, of a loving mother and friend.
