Richard Lee Hillenburg, 84 of Zionsville, passed away on January 13, 2019. Richard was born July 29, 1934 to Olive Davidson Hillenburg and Claude Hillenburg.� He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1952.� In 1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Sunderman in Crawfordsville, IN.� They have been married for 66 years. Richard’s career was in electronic sales with many years devoted to Radio Distributing, Graham Electronics and Altex Mar Electronics.� Richard was a member of the Rotary Club and Toastmasters. He was lifelong member and actively involved in United Methodist churches in Clermont, Fort Wayne, Zionsville and Bonita Springs, FL. Richard was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. He and his wife had an abiding love for dogs which they have passed on to their children. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hillenburg, his sister Claudette Holcomb; his children: Cheryl (Stanley Pennington) Hillenburg, Lynn (Steve) Zahorik and David (Ashley) Hillenburg; grandchildren: Zachary, Lucas and Claire Zahorik and Faith Hillenburg; and son-in-law Richard Woehnker.� He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Vicki Woehnker. Family and friends will gather Saturday, January 19, 2019, for visitation from 2-6p at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 125 W. Sycamore St. Zionsville, IN 46077. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3pm at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Rd., Zionsville, IN 46077, with calling starting at 2, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the New Richmond Cemetery on Monday.
