Ruth Ann Pope, 86, of Greenwood and formerly of Bloomington, passed away on November 19, 2022. Ruth was born to James H. & Doris Ann Skirvin (Calvert) in Bloomington on May 8, 1936. Ruth lead an active and full life with the love of her life of 48 years, Edward Louis Pope, until his passing in 2004. Ruth loved reading, crocheting, camping, square dancing, family vacations to the Smoky Mountains, listening to Elvis music, and most of all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her Sons; Douglas Edward Pope and Scott James Pope, her sisters; Norma Gill and Janice Spriggs, her grandchildren; Courtney (Jacob) Strange, Holly (Aaron) Baxter, Becky Pope and great grandchildren; Veronica Strange, Vanessa Strange, Ethan Strange, Eric Baxter, Miles Baxter, Belle Baxter, Zachary Scott, and Shilea Elliott.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday November, 22, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood, IN, from 4 pm – 8 pm. A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 23 at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, 310 N Johnson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404, from 11am – 12 pm at the cemetery chapel. A funeral service at the cemetery will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
