Shirley Jean Kinnett, 88 years old of New Ross, IN, died Monday, March 4, 2013 in Kindred Bridgewater, Carmel. She was born December 8, 1924 in Warren, OH, daughter of the late Burl M and the late Lula E (Copeland) Kinnett. Shirley loved quilting and met with a group of ladies at the Crawfordsville library to quilt. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Crawfordsville School Superintendent’s office, retiring in the early 90’s after many years of service. Surviving are sister-in-law, Aletha Kinnett of Crawfordsville, nephew, Gerald R (Marcia) Kinnett of Crawfordsville, great-niece, Hope (Chris) Kinnett-Oswalt of Noblesville, 1 niece, several nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert & Harold and sisters, Betty and Dorothy. Family and friends will gather Saturday, March 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Joe Vickery officiating.
