Steven Burkett, 54 years old of Indianapolis IN, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was born April 4, 1957 in Lebanon, IN. Son of Victor D. Burkett and Corinne A. (Fink) Burkett. He was a member of Indianapolis Flycasters, and volunteered with the VA, Project Healing Waters Indianapolis, IN. He also served in the Navy from 1976 to 1980. He worked at Pike Township Schools Transportation Department Surviving are his wife; Joy (Doty) Burkett and mother; Corinne (Fink) Burkett, son; Robert D. Burkett, brother; Melvin Burkett, sister; Vicki (Ric) LaFollette and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Victor D. Burkett Friends will be received Friday, July 15th from 4-8pm at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11am with John Emberton officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jamestown, Indiana.
