Teresa Ann Brower

Teresa Ann Brower, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away February 16, 2015. She was born September 8, 1948, in Muncie to the late Paul and Phyllis (Edwards) Welty. Teresa was a lifelong resident of Muncie, but moved to Indianapolis in 2014 to be with her son and grandchildren after becoming ill. Teresa enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing, and loved animals. She was a devoted, loving grandmother to her three grandchildren and was a dedicated caregiver to her sister, Peggy, for many years. She worked for 21 years at Borg Warner Automotive in Muncie. Survivors include her son Jeremy (Courtney Mathews) Brower, of Indianapolis; brothers Michael “Mick” (Judy) Welty of Muncie, John (Mejo) Welty of Fort Worth, Texas, and Max (Nicole) Welty of New Palestine; sister Peggy Welty of Muncie; sister-in-law Louise Welty of Muncie; and grandchildren Alexis, Nathan, and Isabelle Brower of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Paul James “Jim” Welty. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, February 28, at North Delaware Baptist Church, 809 E Royerton Road, Muncie, IN 47303, with visitation from 1 – 3 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Muncie at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Teresa’s family has suggested memorial donations to the Muncie Animal Shelter at 2401 S Gharkey St, Muncie, IN 47302. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care in Indianapolis.
