Velma Marilyn Rogers, 80 years old of Avon, IN, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Avon Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 26, 1932 in Boone Co., IN, daughter of the late William Henry and Nettie Frances Crosby Pipes. Velma married Buster Curtiss Rogers on May 20, 1951. He survives. She worked as a beautician. She was baptized by John O. McIntyre, pastor of the Whitestown Baptist Church on April 9, 1950. Velma loved camping, country music, crafts and pottery. She was an avid follower of country singer Tom Grant. In addition to her husband, surviving are daughter, Jean Rogers, son, Donald Curtis Rogers, brother, Jack (Peg) Pipes, sister, Janet (Bill) Jones, 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
