Wanda Dean Murphy, 75 years-old of Pittsboro, IN, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 surrounded by family. She was born October 24, 1938 in Missouri, daughter of the late Ray Daniel and Rose Marie (Madden) Murphy. Wanda was born to a family of seven children. Her father Ray was a respected and well-loved minister of the Gospel in the Northwest. Wanda was known to have said that her mother Rose had more faith than anyone she ever knew. Wanda was well-traveled and loved adventure having lived in 10 states. She has five children, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her career mostly centered on real estate and hospitality management. Never avoiding hard work, she was known to work 70-hour weeks up into her 60s. She was a life-long supporter of conservative politics and read the daily newspaper cover to cover for over 50 years. She enjoyed singing in Sweet Adelines while living in Washington State. Her daughter Lori is proud of the fact that her mom never got a ticket or caused a wreck. Wanda loved the great outdoors, animals, sports, fashion, and taking her grandkids to small Hoosier towns. She is survived by her daughter, Loleeta Wine, son, Lee (Jerri) Wine, daughter, Loreena Rose, daughter, Liza (Bob) Taylor, daughter, Lori Anne Copeland, brother, Don (Myrna) Murphy, brother, Sherman (Barbie) Murphy, brother, Norman Murphy, sister, Donna Murphy, brother, Arthur Murphy, grandchildren, Michael (Jamie) Sharpe, Melissa (Bill) Pruitt, Jeffery Sharpe, Charee Wine, C.J. Wine, Deli Wine, Chandra Coleman, Adam Lanier, Tiffany (Elliott) Smith, Breyden Taylor and Chelsey Taylor, great-grandchildren, Declan Sharpe, Lily Sharpe, Rebecca Pruitt, Ayden Wine, Destani Wine, Chloe Wine, Wyatt Lanier and several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Wilson whom she tenderly cared for in the last days of Shirley’s life. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Jadyn Pruitt. Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 11, 2014, 1:00-2:00 p.m. at The Blended Church, 2215 Country Club Road, Indianapolis, IN. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Brock Evans officiating.
