William D. Wynkoop

William D Wynkoop, 93 years old, of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Whitlock House. He was born April 18, 1920 in Lebanon, IN, son of the late Russell C and Goldie A Wynkoop. William married Margaret A. Martin Nicholas on March 23, 1969. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1991. He was a member of the American Legion, the Elks, the Moose, the Masons, the Shrine, the VFW and the Scottish Rite. He served in the US Army during WWII and was part of the D-Day invasion. Surviving are step-son, James M Nicholas, step-daughter, Judith K Cottrell, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Margaret A Nicholas Wynkoop, he was preceded in death by 1 grandchild. A service will he held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, .
