William Stafford Stuart (Bill), 71, died August 8, 2015, at home in Greenwood, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. Bill fought a courageous battle against lung cancer.Bill was born on July 8, 1944, in Indianapolis and was the youngest of three children. Bill graduated from Warren Central High School in 1963 but was already working in the family business prior to graduation. Stuart Parking was a four generation family business, located at 127East Wabash in downtown Indianapolis. Bill began working at Stuart Parking at 15 years old and later became owner and operator in 1974. He retired in 2013. He took pride in serving all of his customers.After his family and Stuart Parking, one of Bill’s great sources of pride was his time serving in the United States Army. Drafted in 1969, Bill served in the Big Red One (101st Airborne) and achievedthe rank of E5 in less than two years. Bill served one year overseas in Vietnam before being Honorably Discharged in 1971. Bill is survived by four children, Robin Sherman (Doug Knesek) and Kim Carey (Steve), Kyle Stuart and Lindsay Pennington (Nick). Bill is survived by all his children and his two sisters Nancy Sprunger and Luclaire Murphy. Bill is further survived by his adoring grandchildren Brad, Alex, Chayton, Jansen, Jack, Shane, and Silas. Finally, Bill is survived by many close friends and his 2005Harley Davidson Softail Standard which he personally customized into a vision of chrome. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bertha Stuart.
