George W Larmer, 95 years old of North Salem, IN, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Danville Regional Rehab. He was born February 23, 1915 in Rogersville, TN, son of the late Allen H. and Eve Elkins Larmer. He married Rachel Buttery on March 20, 1934. She preceded him in death in 2005. He attended North Salem Christian Church. He was a lifelong farmer. Surviving are son, Everett “Poy” Larmer, daughters, Joyce Larmer, and Jane Bernhardt, Grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Larmer, Julie (Brent) Sellers, Shelly (Randy) Voils, Shannon (Ric) Scrimager, Laura (Frankie) Kipper, and Dan (Nicole) Bernhardt, and great-grandchildren, Zachary Larmer, Jordan and April Sellers, Breanna and Clay Kipper, Courtney and Ryan Voils. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Rachel Larmer, son, Kenneth Eddie Larmer, brothers, Henry Larmer, Ray Larmer, Roy Larmer and sisters, Lucille Fishburn, Anne Jensen, Jean Ashton and JoAnn Ragsdale. Friends will be received Saturday, February 19, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Porter Funeral Home with John D. Gossett officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, Indiana.
