Christine (Teena) (“MumMum”), Long McBroom, beloved sister, step-mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many, passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2011 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida. She was born on January 31, 1940, in North Salem, Indiana to the late Charles James and Mayme Lucinda (Clonce) Long. She was the youngest of eight children, five of whom have proceeded her in death. She was a graduate of North Salem High School in 1958 followed by a career at Allison Transmission. Teena McBroom was a wonderful woman who enjoyed people, her beloved dog, Mikey, and welcomed many visits from her family. Her sense of humor, flexibility, humility and caring nature made life better for everyone who knew and loved her. Teena is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann (Gary) Cloyd of Missouri and Marcella (Charlie) Nicely of North Salem, Indiana. She was a devoted wife of forty years to her late husband, Frederick McBroom for whom she selflessly cared and supported during his illnesses. Teena was a loving step-mother to Richard (EJ) and the late Fred McBroom II (Jackie). She loved being a grandmother to (Lori, Fred III, Rob and Matt McBroom), four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. “MumMum” will be forever missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be August 3, 2011, 1:00 to 4:00 pm with the funeral following at 4:00 pm at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
