Alma Leona Burdine, 79 years old of Jamestown, IN, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 in her home. She was born July 2, 1933 in Mt Vernon, KY, daughter of the late George Nicely and Iva Mae Taylor. She was married to John Henry Burdine on February 21, 1953. She attended Jamestown Church of God of Prophecy, and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Jamestown. She retired from Blue & White Truck Stop in Pittsboro after 25 years of service as a waitress. Surviving are daughters, Linda Ehrie, Jeannie (Leroy) Shaw, and Debbie (Dick) Bilderback, all of Jamestown, son, Jerry Burdine of Jamestown, sisters Sue (Ken) Kelsey of Ridgeville, IN and Zora (James) Dixon of New Ross, IN, brother Donny (Alma) Nicely of Poland, IN, grandchildren, Tommy Ehrie, Donna Henry, Laurie Stewart, Bradley Burdine, Bryan Shaw, Michael Shaw, John Bilderback, Melissa Parsley, Lacy Burdine, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Jimmy, and 2 grandchildren. Friends will be received 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4 at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Popplewell officiating.
