Franklin David Saxton, 74 years old of Jamestown, IN, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospice. He was born March 2, 1938 in Indianpolis, IN, son of the late Franklin and Bernita Upshaw Saxton. He married Sandra Perkins on June 24, 1960 in Glen Valley, IN. She survives. He was a member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years. He retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service. Surviving are sons, Franklin Mark (Hope) Saxton, Terry (Kim) Saxton and Larry (Cathi) Saxton, daughter, Pamla (Gaylon) Taylor, sister, Kay Wagner, brother, Dean Saxton, 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday, October 14, 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church, Pittsboro, IN, Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with calling from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Butler officiating.
