Shirley A Fischer, 65 years old of Danville, IN, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Danville Regional Rehab. She was born January 20, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN, daughter of the late Thurlow Vinson and Laura (Daffron) Ferguson. She married Doug Fischer on February 10, 1967 in Cave-In Rock, IL. He survives. Shirley will be sorely missed by her Georgia peach, Kelley and her lil Kraut son, Vince. She had a passion for cooking and would fix food for her husband to take to his work and share. At Christmas she would fix loaves of breads to give to Doug’s fellow workers. Friends and family were always welcome and if you went away hungry it was your own fault. She donated to many charities. In addition to her husband, surviving are daughter, Kelley (Chris) Bradshaw, son, Vincent Fischer, sisters, Janet (Doug) Emmick of Washington, Nancy (Terry) Hotz of Jasper, Marsha Pride of Washington, Violet Earles of Princeton, and Carol Couts of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Zachary Douglas Fischer and Natalie Elaine Branham. two young men, Ronnie and Ricky Mitchell, held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by siblings, Edwin Ferguson, Virgil Ferguson and Helen (Cil) Armstrong. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
