Mr. Arthur G. Weaver

Arthur G. Weaver, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born April 13, 1932 in Indianapolis to Garfield and Clara (Huber) Weaver. He married Marlene Kenworthy on June 4, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Weaver of Greenwood; two daughters, Julie (Michael) Garrett of Morgantown and Laurie (Tim) Worton of Florida; six grandchildren, Wesley (Kayleen) Garrett, Whitley (Ben) Holt, Michelle Hooper, Melissa Bensel, Benjamin Krout, and Mara (Kyle) White; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
Art graduated from Manual High School in Indianapolis.
He was a printer/stripper for Burford Printing, and later was employed by White Arts in the same position.
Art was a member of the Our Lady of the Catholic Church in Greenwood.
He was very proud of his family, Scouting, and his military service.
Art was a long time member of Troop #265. He was a part of the “Greenwood Gourmet’s”, a group of adult Scouters that would travel to many campouts to help prepare meals for the Scouts. This involvement led Art to seven National Boy Scout Jamboree’s representing the Crossroads of America Council. He was a very active Minisino in the Firecrafter organization.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Art was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514, F. & A.M., and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. He was also a 4th Degree Knight and founding member of the Knights of Columbus in Greenwood.
Visitation will take place from 5-8PM, Wednesday June 1, at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11AM, Thursday June 2, at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian Street Greenwood. Visitation will also take place from 10-11AM prior to the service. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Boy Scout Troop #265, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN 46143.
