Everett “Ed” Alder, 75, of Zionsville, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Ed was born in Logansport, Indiana on August 25, 1948, a son of the late Everett E. Alder Sr., and Joan (Bockover) Alder. He graduated from Logansport High School in 1966 and earned an associate degree in Electronics in 1968. He met the love of his life, Linda Sargent, in their junior year of high school. They were married on September 8, 1968.
Trained at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, Ed served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He served those two years in Wurzburg, Germany maintaining Hawk missiles. During his working years, Ed was self-employed in the CNC machine service and fabrication business, serving automotive industries.
Ed loved his Lord, his family, and his friends. He had hobbies but they were not as important to him as being with friends and family. He and Linda were long time members of North Central Church of Christ, and attended Traders Point Christian Church. Ed and Linda have lived in Zionsville, Indiana for nearly 48 years.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda, his son, Kyle (Roberta) Alder, grandchildren: Vivian and Jonathan; sisters: Diane (Tim) Yoakum and Lynn Michael; sister-in-law, Sandy Ruckle, niece, Kim McDonald and nephew, Mike Ruckle. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. His arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, Zionsville Chapel.
