Dr. Alvin M. LoSasso, born in Vandergrift, PA, passed away on his 82nd birthday, May 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by parents Alvin (Archangelo) and Rose Mary (Pagano) LoSasso. Alvin is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Anita (Gore) LoSasso and his children Michael (Nicole) LoSasso, Laura (James) Graves; and his three grandchildren, Thomas Graves, Kathryn Graves and Jason LoSasso, in whom he took great pride and joy.After attaining a Bachelors in Science Degree from Duke University and a Medical Degree from Ohio State University, Alvin obtained numerous specialties, fellowships, certifications and appointments as an anesthesiologist at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Alvin collaborated with fellow physicians in several research publications and explored new technologies to improve and extend the lives of his patients. His medical career culminated in an emeritus professorship from the Indiana University School of Medicine.In retirement Alvin continued to research through pass-times and hobbies butvalued most his time spent with family and close friends. Alvin is remembered to have derived the greatest satisfaction from his pursuit of goals rather that their accomplishment.In lieu of flowers the family suggests that Alvin’s legacy in medical research be perpetuated by donation to the Miles for Myeloma fund www.myiu.org. Include a personal check to the “Miles for Myeloma Fund” in memory of Dr. Alvin LoSasso, PO Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207.A memorial Mass will be held for Alvin on Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 West Oak Street, Zionsville, IN. The Mass will be preceded by a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
