Aron Lee Broshar, 85, died March 31, 2012 at his home near Jamestown. He was born in Lebanon on March 10, 1927, the son of the late Herman “Ted” Broshar & Vicy McPhetridge Broshar. He lived in Jackson Township, Jamestown all of his life. He married Margaret E. Brown on November 24, 1949 at their farm home north of Jamestown, where they spent 62 years of marriage. She survives. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family and grandchildren. His was a World War II veteran. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and left for service the day after he graduated from Jamestown High School in 1945. He was discharged in 1946 and returned home to start farming and continued to farm until retiring in 1993. Aron’s hobbies included golf, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed going with his family on their annual summer vacation to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He was an avid Jeff Gordon fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He was a longtime member of the Jamestown Christian Church, having been baptized in 1944. Other memberships included the Jamestown American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, son Gary Broshar of Jamestown, grandsons Garrett Broshar, Dylan Broshar and Cody Broshar, all of Jamestown, sister-in-law Mary Oliver of Crawfordsville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 3, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main Street, Jamestown. Services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012,10:30 a.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Larry Pierson officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
