Daisy Lee Buttery Born November 14, 1919 in Laurel County, London, Kentucky. The oldest of six children, she was the daughter of Denver Lee and Emma Victoria (Swanner) Creech. She married Silas Woodson Buttery on December 26, 1938 in London, Kentucky. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage until his passing in 1978. Daisy retired from Depauw University. She had previously been a truck driver with her husband in Fountain and Putnam Counties. She was a member of the Hollyness Church of Lilly, Kentucky. She enjoyed her faith, family, friends, gardening, cooking, baking and couponing. Survivors include her children, Louise Miller (Larry), Sue Baxter (Larry), Silas Woodson Buttery, Jr. (Peg) and Frederick Lee Buttery (Carla), all of Putnam County, 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter and 3 step-great grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy (Creech) Byrd of Cincinnati, OH, Jewel (Creech) Mattingly of Louisville, KY, and brother, Orville Deliane Creech (Carol) of Lilly, KY brother-in-law, Kenny Reid and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and their husbands, Ada (Creech) Bryant (Kenneth), Goldie (Creech) Marshall (Manual), Jenny Lou (Creech) Reid and several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, December 15, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with John Gossett officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
