Earl Leo Hullinger, 82, of Anderson passed away on April 1, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family. Earl was born on August 5, 1940, in Anderson to the late John “Bill” and Edna (Lawson) Hullinger. Earl enlisted in the United States Navy, and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge in 1963. After the military, he began working for General Motors/Guide Lamp as a Tool & Dye Maker until his retirement on October 1, 1999. During his career at General Motors, he met his late wife, Patricia “Pat” Roe. The two were married on January 16, 1978, and were married for 36 years until her passing in 2014. Earl found his spiritual home at Anderson Southdale Church of the Nazarene and was a faithful member for many years. Earl loved wood-working, especially cabinet making, he was so talented.
Earl will be dearly missed by his children, Debbie (Brian) Smith, Jamie (Sirapassorn) Hullinger, Dawn (Rev. William) Cornell, and Star Polly; grandchildren, Cody Smith, Craig Smith, Corey Smith, and Jennifer Franklin; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat Hullinger; sister, Donna Melton; and brother, Morris Hullinger.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. William Cornell will be officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park.
