Elton Leroy Tidwell, 88, of Indianapolis passed away November 16, 2022.  Elton was born on June 7, 1934, in Haskell, Texas to Clarence Elton and Christine (Hayes) Tidwell.  Leory lived in the Texas and New Mexico area for many years, and he moved his family to Indiana in 1971.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Indiana University.  Leroy had served as an accountant and Controller for the AMAX Coal Company prior to his retirement.  In his free time, Leroy was an avid investor and loved woodworking.

Leroy is survived by his wife of over sixty-five years, Blanche (Supina) Tidwell; children: Craig (Kimberly) Tidwell and Amanda (Jeff) Rapaport; grandchildren: Ashton and Ava Tidwell, Lauren (Ben) Zack and Lanna Rapaport; half-brother, Sam Newton.  Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Ronnie Newton.

Funeral services for Leroy will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main Street in Greenwood.  Burial will take place ion the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
