86 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away May 4, 2016. John was born on July 22, 1929 in Spring Hill, Minnesota to the late Joseph and Mary Ellering Schoenberg. He served on the Marion County Sheriff’s Dept. for over 20 years and retired on June 30, 1987, then worked part time for Maus and Elam Dental Lab for 10 years as a driver delivering dental supplies.

John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Tena Schoenberg; son, Mike (Beth) Schoenberg; daughter, Angie (Joe) Price; brother, Edward (Audrey) Schoenberg; sister, Marlene (Daniel) Jansen; five grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel and Emily Schoenberg, Sara and Isabel Price. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, May 10^th at Nativity Catholic Church 7225 Southeastern Ave. Indianapolis, IN with calling Monday, May 9^th from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Stirling – Gerber Chapel 5950 E. Thompson Rd. Indianapolis, IN with a rosary at 7:30. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
