Leland Roy Cornett, 91 years old of New Ross, IN, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the Indiana Veteran’s Home in Lafayette. He was born July 6, 1920 in Oregon, son of the late Christopher and Ellen Nicholson Cornett. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII in aircraft maintenance. Surviving are brothers, Donald Cornett of Greenfield, IN and Christopher (Pete) Cornett of Livermore, CA and sisters, Dorothy Cowdin of Tulsa, OK, and Mary Glassmeyer of OR. Graveside services will be held at New Ross Cemetery, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ann Spahr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Home for Friendless Animals, PO Box 217, Waynetown, IN 47990 or the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
