John and I have shared many adventures together over the pass 35 + years. John and I were both rookies at the same time trying to earn the right to be a Murat HighLander. I will say that the hazing from the band was not quite as bad as what it took to become a member of the Shrine going thru “HOT SAND” but we were basically the flunkies for the band together. Finally, after a year we both earned the right to call ourselves a “HighLander”. John and I developed a very close bond over the many years of parades, circus’ and St.Patty Day parties and road trips. If I shared some of the stories of our adventures with you John may come back to haunt me! John and I worked on a lot of projects together with me being a builder and John being the best plumber and HVAC man in central Indiana. After John loss Suzanne and then not much later his mother John and I really got even closer, John was at wits end trying to get all the paperwork completed that was required. John was so stressed out dealing with all of forms and companies which he had never dealt with before and I was so happy that Valerie and I could help him thru all the things that had to be done. It wasn’t long after going thru a lot of this that John’s health started to cause him problems. Valerie and I felt a little guilty moving to Florida and leaving john, but he and I talked almost every week for hours at a time. I kept telling John that he had to get his health better so that he could come to Florida and let me take him out fishing in the ocean. It seemed like he was getting better, and we started talking about when he would be able to come down, and that is why it shocked me so bad with I got the call from Sarah that John has passed. I will miss John everyday for the rest of my life he was such a dear friend and Brother. The one thing I wish that I could have found out was if John was finally able to eat celery, he wanted too so bad. Love you Brother

John was a great person! He will be miss by several. He cherished his family very much. John had an act for talk. We enjoyed several of his stories. He was a very hard worker. He was of a kind. The mold has been broken, wont be another like him. Thanks for your friendship and the times you stopped by to help with our air conditioning system. Fly high and know you are in our hearts. Love Francis and Robin Sears

I am so shocked and saddened to learn of John's passing. He was truly one of the good guys. I'm glad to have bagpiped with him, enjoyed being a Shriner with him and of course knowing him.
