PENDLETON- Alan J. Swinford, 80, passed away at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis on October 14, 2023.
He was born on October 31, 1942 in Anderson, Indiana to Harold and Betty (Rowland) Swinford. Alan resided in Pendleton 23 years and was a former Lapel resident.
He was a Pharmacist for over 45 years.
Alan was a 1960 graduate of Anderson High School and a graduate of Purdue University. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton where he served as a Deacon and faithful servant of God. Alan was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Karen whom he married in July 1967; children, Gregg (Lisa) Swinford and Julie Waszak; grandchildren, Hannah (Adrien) Swinford, Austin (Katelyn) Swinford and Ian Swinford.; siblings, Tim (Ann) Swinford, Pat Kandrick, Howard (Kathy) Swinford and Cindi (Dyle) Mead; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son-in-law, Dennis Waszak.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Aaron Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Lahm Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
