Barbara Ann Havens Inabnitt was a loving wife, mother, and Mimmie to 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and one “on the way”. She went home to heaven on January 31, 2021 as written in her Lord’s book ages ago. At 86 years young, born April 6, 1934 in Bedford, IN; her life was an outpouring of love for so many, starting with Toddy, husband of nearly 60 years. God blessed them with 5 children (3 surviving) Carla (Howard) Beeson, Jill (Kent) Miller, Bill (Jennifer) Inabnitt. Proceeded in death by parents Ferd & Ruby Havens, brother Jim Havens, husband Carlis “Toddy” Inabnitt, son Joe Inabnitt, and daughter Melanie Inabnitt. Barbara and her family finally settled in Greenwood and she graduated from Center Grove High School in 1952. She found the love of her life and married Toddy that same year on September 27th. They were blessed first with Carla in 1953 and had Joe in 1956. In 1958 they were blessed with another child, Melanie, but she did not survive. She knew she still wanted more children and Jill was born next in 1963 and followed by Bill in 1965. She knew her family was now complete. Through the years she had many different jobs including supporting Toddy as he built his career. She also supported him as he personally built the homes that they lived in. Her role as mother and home maker did not begin to describe all the dedication and love that she put into raising her family. She and Toddy wanted their family to experience life to the fullest and they took many vacations and trips all over the world including Switzerland, her favorite place to visit. She started in 1966 at Tube Processing, a job she devoted herself to. She was able to retire in 1998 and began her next stage of life, retirement with Toddy. She and Toddy purchased a condo in Naples, Florida. Immediately they became ‘Snowbirds’ from December 1 – April 1. This is when she established ‘Christgiving’; which is a combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas held on Thanksgiving Day. A tradition the family continues to this day and is very important to the dynamic of the family. The following years all the children brought their families together at their condo in Florida. She was an active member of Bargersville Eastern Star beginning in 1961. She enjoyed many evenings at the American Legion, The Moose, The Shrine Club, The Elks, and VFW. In her younger years she enjoyed hunting deer and mushrooms, fishing, golfing and anything outdoors. She loved to play cards and was involved in ‘The Social’ playing Euchre. If you were lucky enough to be her partner, then you would normally win! Her faith was strong and she enjoyed attending Hope Restored for Widows, Bible Study, and Sunday Services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Shrine Club, 751 West King Street, Franklin, IN 46131. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be private for family and will be livestreamed on Facebook Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 AM

wish we could have had a visit together. We both wanted it but didn't get to. We use to be very close even tho we didn't live in same state. My sympathy to all her children and my love also.

It was my privilege to spend the afternoon at a "Baby Sprinkle" on Jan 24th with Barbara (or better known as Mimmie). Both of us were there as the 2 great grandmothers at the home of her grandson, Will Inabnitt. He and my granddaughter Alexsa are expecting baby #2 so we were there to celebrate that upcoming event. I took pictures thru the afternoon which she was in and we were enjoying/watching all the fun games and food! My condolences to ALL the Inabnitt family.

Toddy and Barbara were some of my happiest times as a child.The whole family was awesome.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

What a wonderful life Barbara lived! She will be greatly missed but continued to be loved and remembered by many friends and a large and extended family. My love and prayers go out for Carla, Jill, and Bill. What great memories and a wonderful family heritage she left behind for each of you. She will be dearly missed!
