Barbara Ann McCormack

Barbara Ann McCormack, aged 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 8, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. Barbara was born to Chester & Irene (Freudenberger) Claridge on April 5, 1940, in Pike County, IN. Spending time and preparing meals for her family was her love language. Watching sports such as IU and Purdue Basketball and being an avid member of Acton United Methodist Church were just some of things that she valued most in her life. She adored her grandchildren more than anything and will continue to impact them throughout their lives. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Chester & Irene Claridge, her husband Charles McCormack, and brothers Bill Claridge and Clayton Claridge. 

Barbara is survived by her three children; Robin (Francis) Johnson, Michael McCormack, and Steven (Robin) McCormack; seven grandchildren, Brooke Austin, Jaida Austin, Brett (Kalee) Johnson, Kirk (Katie) Johnson, Jason Johnson, Caitlyn McCormack and Jared McKinley; along with her seven great grandchildren.  

A graveside service will be held at Blackfoot Cemetery, E Co Rd 900 S, Oakland City, IN 47660, at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow the service. A Celebration of Life will be held at Acton United Methodist Church to honor Barbara, on Friday April 5th from 1-4pm. In a lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Acton United Methodist Church.
