Bertha C. Reeder, 97, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown. She was born July 25, 1923 in Carter County, Kentucky. Bertha worked a variety of jobs, but her favorite was working as a seamstress for several retail stores. Bertha is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiliam K. & Carrie (Jessee) Reeder; siblings, Arthur (wife, Bessie) Reeder, Lawrence Reeder, Floyd James, Atha Reeder (husband, Bill) Ruley, Stella Cleo Reeder Glover, Edna (husband, Harve) Reeder Holbrook, & Violet Reeder. Private arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Her final resting place will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.

My heart is sad, Aunt Bert, that you are no longer here with us but I am rejoicing that you are reunited with your parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends that have gone on before you. I am sure there is a great celebration happening right now as you are welcomed to your eternal life. I haven't seen you in 4 years but I will always cherish the memories of our last visit with you. I'm sad to lose my aunt Bertha yet blessed to have had her 97 years. It was sad when she moved to In from Ky but she made a good life. I missed her every day. Love, niece, Billie Jean

A sad day to lose someone so important in my childhood & growing up...I'm aunt Bertha's great niece from Ky. Bert made me feel special as a little girl as she played with me & bought me things I still have today. She was ahead of her time...she did it her way, was opinionated & a hoot! After she moved to Indy, I didn't see her often; however, we communicated on every holiday with cards & letters. I still have every one & Cherish the memories. So long Bert! You were one of a kind, entertaining & I'm blessed to have had you for a great Aunt... ❤
