A former resident of Greenwood, Betty J. Cave passed away on Sunday after a long illness. Betty was born to Lawrence Stephens and Rena (Hutson) Stephens. She was second oldest of seven children. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Robert Stephens, James Stephens, Margaret Jansen, Helen Roberts, Laura May Stephens and LaDonna Lucille Stephens.
On October 20, 1944, Betty married Quentin R. Cave in Texas. After WWII they returned to begin their married life in Indianapolis. In 1949, the couple moved to Mishawaka, IN where they lived until 1973. They welcomed a son, Stephen, on November 13, 1950. Betty was preceded in death by her husband.
Betty is survived by her son Stephen (Carol) Cave. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Marc Cave (Elkhart, IN), Johnell Arland (Ocala, FL), Quentin Cave (Elkhart, IN), Jessica Crumpler (Elkhart, IN) and Dawn Clark (Anderson, IN). She found great joy in them as well as her great grandchildren: Kaleb Vitou, Aliya Coquillard, Madison Coquillard, Trista Cave, Karaleena Cave, Jared Clark, Braxton Kalil, Andrew Kalil, Isabella Kalil, and Shane Cash Arland.
Betty enjoyed baking, reading, quilting and watching the grands play their sports. She enjoyed her weekly trips for breakfast, getting her hair done and shopping.
Services for Betty J. Cave are Saturday, April 20 at 12:00 noon at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel. Friends and family will gather at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service. She will be laid to rest at Anderson Cemetery in Indianapolis following the service.
