Bruce Allen Pickell, aged 77, found his rest in the arms of his Savior on December 5, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital, Carmel, Indiana. He was born August 23, 1946, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to Harvey Pickell and Muriel Pickell Rogers, who preceded him in death. His stepmother Ruth Pickell also preceded him.
He is survived by his spouse of 52 years, Mary Ann Pickell, daughters Missi Pickell and Mindi Pickell Strong and husband Randall, grandchildren Aubrey Strong Perkins and husband Zach, Lincoln Strong, and Sawyer Strong, his sister Sandra Blankenship, and nieces and nephews.
Bruce earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia College of Bible, Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Grace Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Dallas Seminary. He served pastorates in Minnesota, Iowa, and Alabama. Bruce’s great joy was studying and sharing God’s Word, teaching in Bible colleges in Iowa, Michigan, and Alabama. He served as hospice chaplain for 5 years after he retired from teaching.
Watching his daughters and grandchildren grow up to love and serve Jesus brought such joy to Bruce’s heart. 3 John 4: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
He was thankful for loving caregivers at Maple Park Village in Westfield, Indiana, and amazing nurses and doctors who took such good care of him at St. Vincent Hospital ICU in Carmel, Indiana.
