Carol Anne Wunder

Carol Anne Wunder, 78, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Witham Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana.

Carol Anne was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 25, 1943 to Franky and Harold Fuller.

She grew up in Sulphur, Louisiana and later attended McNeese State University where she met her husband, Dr. Tom Wunder. She received her degree in education and taught shorthand and business courses for five years. Tom and Carol Anne were married August 20, 1965 and he was her partner in life for 56 years up until her death.

Carol Anne is survived by her husband, her three children, Jennifer King (Emmett King), Brent Wunder (Lyndsy Wunder), and Courtney Poehl (Josh Poehl), and her seven grandchildren (with another on the way).

Carol Anne spent most of her life in North Judson, Indiana where Dr. Wunder was the town dentist. She was involved in PEO, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and sang choir at the United Methodist Church. Above all, Carol Anne was known for being an incredible mother. She was selfless, always putting the needs of her children before her own. She was an amazing cook and homemaker and was famous for her “blend of the bayou” recipe that she brought with her from Louisiana.

Carol Anne’s friends and family remember her as a classy woman who always dressed elegantly, spoke kindly, and was a joy to everyone who got the pleasure of meeting her. Even for those who weren’t blood relatives, her home was always open and she had endless love to give. She was very spiritual and her family takes solace in knowing she is in heaven with God now. They have no doubt that when He welcomed her home, He said, “Well done.”

Family and friends are invited to attend Carol Anne’s Service and Celebration of Life on Friday, May 13th at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Rd. Zionsville, IN. The Visitation will take place at 10:00am EST and the Service at 11:00 am EST. The Celebration of Life will follow at Stone Creek Dining Company, 4450 Weston Pointe Dr., Suite 105, Zionsville, IN. Flowers and/or memorial contributions in honor of Carol Anne Wunder to Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home are equally welcome. Arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care of Zionsville.
