Charles V. “Charlie” Craft passed away at his home at the age of 86 on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born October 30, 1935 to Frank H. and Harriet L. Craft in New Lisbon, IN, and was a 1954 graduate of New Castle High School. After retiring from farming in 1986 and 37 years of skilled trade service from Chrysler in 2000, Charlie spent his time collecting and restoring IH tractors, specifically his 1939 models. He enjoyed going to tractor shows and talking with all his friends. He was a member and retired director of Indiana Chapter 7 IH Collector Club. Charlie was also a proud member of several fraternal organizations, most notably the Freemasons where he served as a three- time past master at Mechanicsburg #392 and current member of New Castle #91. He was also a member of the Murat Shriners. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Harriet Craft, and wife Jane Craft. He is survived by his sons, Michael (wife Melanie) Craft of Shirley, and Brad (wife Amanda) Craft of Shirley. Granddaughter Kaycee Craft of Shirley, IN. Grandsons Caleb (wife Kaleigh) Craft of Savannah, GA, Wyatt Craft of Shirley, IN, and John C. Craft of Shirley, IN. Great Granddaughters Jessica, Samantha, and Elizabeth Craft of Savannah, GA. Sister-in-law and cherished friend Joan Smith of Middletown, IN. Brother John Craft of Lake Mary, FL and Sister Sarah Denney of New Castle, IN. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 130 South Main St., Wilkinson, IN 46186 with burial at Mechanicsburg cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
