Charles Wesley Adams, age 86, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2021. Charlie, who also went by Wesley, was born on Wednesday, January 16, 1935 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Vachal and Martha Adams. Charlie retired from Naval Air Warfare Center, Indianapolis, IN. Drafted twice into the armed services, he proudly served our country. For the remainder of his life, he retained active status with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He enjoyed good food, playing cards, traveling, and meeting new people. Most of all, he loved spending time laughing with family and friends. On Christmas Eve, Charlie was called to heaven and reunited with his beloved wife and best friend of 61 years: Sonja Adams. His spirit is carried on by his children, grandchildren and extended family of relations, and many friends from all walks of life. He is survived by his 4 children: Michael (April) Adams of Noblesville, Indiana, David (Cindy) Adams of Bentonville, Arkansas, Daniel (Chip) Adams of San Rafael, California, and Angela Adams of Lottsburg, Virginia; and 5 grandchildren: Matthew Adams, Jakeb Adams, David W. Vaughn, Ashley Vaughn, and Nevaeh Vaughn. Wesley is preceded in death by his wife: Sonja Adams; parents: Vachal and Martha Adams; sisters: Ethel Marguerite Lewis, Martha Lucille Huber, Evelyn Christian; and brother: Ozzro V. Adams. Wesley will be long remembered for being a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11am at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN. 46227.
