Darlene Carole Nancy Steinmetz Killen, 52, of Jamestown, died April 27, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1962 in Batesville, Indiana; the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy Gies Steinmetz. Darlene graduated from East Central High School in 1980 and married Stephen Eugene Killen on July 10, 1982. She worked as a manager with the Jamestown Market for many years. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, classic rock and roll music and most importantly, she loved her chickens. Survivors include her husband of thirty two years; mother, Dorothy Gies Steinmetz; children, Stephen Otto Killen and Valerie Pearl Killen, both of Jamestown; siblings, Eugene “Butch” Steinmetz, Debra Scutter, Rick “Eric” Steinmetz, Denise “Dee Dee” Schneider, Diane “Nan” Likens, Della “Lou Lou” Baynum, Dorothy “Dottie” Baker, Ernie (Elaine) Steinmetz, Devonna “Vonna” Smith and Eldon “Eldo” Steinmetz.She was preceded in the by her father and sister, Danette “Missy” Steinmetz.Family and friends will gather on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Advance Christian Church for a celebration of Darlene’s life.
