Douglas “Doug” A. Goad, age 77, of Indianapolis passed away in his home on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born on July 29, 1946, in Indianapolis to Marlen and Pollie Goad. Doug graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1964 and then joined the United States Airforce where he served in the Vietnam War.
Doug married his bride of 51 years, Sue A. (Durrett) Goad in 1972. He is survived by his loving wife and their daughter Kimberly (Eric), as well as two grandsons Luke (Savannah) and Andrew. He was proceeded in death by both of his parents Marlen and Pollie as well as his youngest sister Sherrie. He has four surviving sisters: Rosie, Marilyn, Yvonne and Sandi.
Doug worked at Western Electric for nearly 2 decades and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Indianapolis. He was passionate about golf and was the owner of Nevada Bob’s golf stores in central Indiana.
Funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday December 2, 2023 from 1pm-5pm at the Villas of Lake Lakota Clubhouse
